Science Opportunities for high school students
As some of the best and brightest scientific minds at Seminole High School, Science National Honor Society members should try to expand their horizons by competing in science competitions, taking on professional internships, and excelling in science beyond the high school classroom. Here are a few projects that could a Seminole High student's creativity and ingenuity.
Pathways To Science Programs
This online database lists over 500 college programs and internships available for science-minded students. It is compiled by NASA and the National Science Foundation. Interested in summer programs through college or internships? Check this site out!
MIT or Massachusetts Institute of Technology offers summer programs for juniors and seniors, some of which are absolutely free. Some of the programs are geared specifically for minority students or female students; others are open for everyone to apply. Applications begin opening in November for the upcoming summer, so it is never too early to start planning. This is not only a remarkable, once-in-a-lifetime experience, it would look amazing on a college application!
